Friendship Poems: Best Friends Poetry

Friendship is something we all human love and cherish. Having a good friend in time of need is always great to have. Some people call it friends their “tribe” as they are always together in thick and thin.

Here are some of the poems about friendship that I want to share;

Friendship
– By Brittani Kokko
Standing by,
All the way.
Here to help you through your day.

Holding you up,
When you are weak,
Helping you find what it is you seek.

Catching your tears,
When you cry.
Pulling you through when the tide is high.

Just being there,
Through thick and thin,
All just to say, you are my friend.

Everything
by Ann Marie

Just when I think I’ve lost my way
Something illuminates the dark
There you are leading the way
Love shining from your heart

Many friends have crossed my path
And I thank God for them all
But I got an extra special blessing
When your friendship answered my call

You stayed by my side every step
Even when others fled
I know that because you’re here
I can face whatever’s ahead

Your smile and laugh urge me on
And encourage me to be strong
Your loving support helps me stand
When the road is rough and long

So much that I can thank God for:
My family and health
But when He blessed me with you
He gave me more than wealth

Mortal words could never explain
What you have come to be
You are my life, my world, my heart
You are EVERYTHING to me

Friendship Never Ends

by Janine
We were in kindergarten when we became friends
we made a packed we’d be friends till the end
playing on the playground swingin’ on the swings
next thing we know we’d be teens

Telling secrets, talking about boys
Growing up, getting rid of all our toys
Talking to each other on the phone
Knowing that we’d never be alone

Your the person I can tell everything
and you wouldn’t laugh at me when I tried to sing
I could always be a dork with you
And you could be a dork with me too

And even when we had our fights
Some how we knew everything would be alright
Ya, sure we had our ups and downs
We shared our smiles and our frowns

But no matter what we stayed friends
You were here through the thick and thin
I love you more then words can say
and I wish you never had to go away

Even though you can’t be here
I thank God for all the years
that we got to spend together
our friendship I will always Treasure!

There was US sitcom Friends which is very popular urban story about six friends and their life’s joys and triumph. You can get to learn about TV series friends here.

Motivational Poems : Collection Part 2

Before You
By William Arthur Ward

Before you speak, listen.
Before you write, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you invest, investigate.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.
Before you retire, save.
Before you die, give.

May You Have
Unknown

May you have……

Enough happiness to keep you sweet,
Enough trials to keep you strong,
Enough sorrow to keep you human,
Enough hope to keep you happy;
Enough failure to keep you humble,
Enough success to keep you eager,
Enough friends to give you comfort,
Enough wealth to meet your needs;
Enough enthusiasm to look forward,
Enough faith to banish depression,
Enough determination to make each day better than yesterday.

The World Is Against Me
By Edgar A. Guest

“The world is against me,” he said with a sigh.
“Somebody stops every scheme that I try.

The world has me down and it’s keeping me there;
I don’t get a chance. Oh, the world is unfair!
When a fellow is poor then he can’t get a show;
The world is determined to keep him down low.”

“What of Abe Lincoln?” I asked. “Would you say
That he was much richer than you are to-day?
He hadn’t your chance of making his mark,
And his outlook was often exceedingly dark;
Yet he clung to his purpose with courage most grim
And he got to the top. Was the world against him?”

“What of Ben Franklin? I’ve oft heard it said
That many a time he went hungry to bed.
He started with nothing but courage to climb,
But patiently struggled and waited his time.
He dangled awhile from real poverty’s limb,
Yet he got to the top. Was the world against him?

“I could name you a dozen, yes, hundreds, I guess,
Of poor boys who’ve patiently climbed to success;
All boys who were down and who struggled alone,
Who’d have thought themselves rich if your fortune they’d known;
Yet they rose in the world you’re so quick to condemn,
And I’m asking you now, was the world against them?”

It Couldn’t Be Done
By Edgar A. Guest

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it”;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

Don’t Quit (awesome motivational poem)
Unknown

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things go wrong that you mustn’t quit.

Success
Unknown

Success is speaking words of praise,
In cheering other people’s ways.
In doing just the best you can,
With every task and every plan.

It’s silence when your speech would hurt,
Politeness when your neighbor’s curt.
It’s deafness when the scandal flows,
And sympathy with others’ woes.

It’s loyalty when duty calls,
It’s courage when disaster falls.
It’s patience when the hours are long,
It’s found in laughter and in song.

It’s in the silent time of prayer,
In happiness and in despair.
In all of life and nothing less,
We find the thing we call success.
